Previously Ranthambhore
used to be the hunting grounds. Here tigers are the pride
of this sanctuary and this pride makes it one of the best
places in the country. Other residents also give importance
to the park which are large numbers of sambar, chital,
nilgai, gazzelle, boars, mongoose, Indian hare, monitor
lizards and a large number of birds. Summers long here
from April to June. It is surrounded by Vindhyas and the
Aravalis, spread over an area of 392 sq. kms of thick
forest with nullahs and waterfalls.
If
someone wants to observe and take photographs of the activities
of the tiger then Ranthambhor is the ideal park for observing
and Photographing. The park
has over 300 varieties of birds. Wildlife-rich Ranthambhor
is equally rich in archeological monuments. The fort of
Ranthambhor, which is situated on a large hill, inaccessible
even today from any side except for its gate. It has been
declared protected Monument by the Archeological Survey
of India. The park opens from October to June, while November
to March are the best months to visit it.

is Sawai Madhopur..The nearesrt airport is located at
Jaipur the capital city of the state of Rajasthan which
is 145 kilometres from Ranthambore.
