NATIONAL PARK (KEOLADEO GHANA)
Ghana or Bharatpur National Park, one of the most spectacular
bird sanctuaries in India is situated in eastern Rajasthan,
about 176 kms away from Delhi. Formerly known as the Bharatpur
Bird Sanctuary, the Keoladeo Ghanna Sanctuary boasts of
being one of the finest heronries in the world. Nesting
indigenous water- birds as well as migratory water birds
and water side birds. More than 300 species of birds are
found in this small park of 29-sq. km. of which 11 sq.
km. are marshes and the rest scrubland and grassland.
TIME TO VISIT
October - June
Tiger, nilgai, boar, sambar, chital, hyena, gazzell, chinkara,
Indian hare, mongoose, leopard, jungle cats, sloth bear,
marsh crocodile, jacanas, painted stork,black stork, peafowl,
crested serpent eagle etc.
HOW TO GET THERE
The nearest town and nearest railhead for Ranthambore
is Sawai Madhopur..The nearesrt airport is located at
Jaipur the capital city of the state of Rajasthan which
is 145 kilometres from Ranthambore.
